Our mission is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that facilitates each student's personal/social, academic and career development. Our mission supports all facets of the educational environment in all three domains of the American School Counselors Association Model; academic, personal/social and career awareness. The ultimate objective is to help students strengthen their unique skills and abilities and to arm them with the requisite skills necessary to participate in a global community as responsible citizens.

The Lodi Public School counselors believe:

• All students can learn and should be given the opportunity to do so;

• All students have dignity and worth and have the right to be served by a comprehensive school counseling program;

• Learning requires the active participation, mutual respect and individual accountability of students, teachers, staff, parents and community members;

• All students' ethnic, cultural, racial differences and special needs are considered in planning and implementing the school wide program;

And that the school counseling program should:

• Provide academic, career, personal and social development for every student;

• Be student-centered;

• Be data-driven. Data will be used in assessing the needs and effectiveness of the school counseling program and will drive future program development and evaluation;

And that all school counselors:

• Abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by the American School Counselor Association; and

• Participate in professional development essential to maintain a quality school counseling program.

APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES:

Any student who is in crisis shall report directly to the School Counseling Office to see his or her counselor. Any student in need of an academic/post-secondary conference is encouraged to email his/her counselor in order to request an appointment.

POST-SECONDARY PLANNING:

The Lodi High School Counseling Department subscribes to the belief that the post-secondary planning process is a "TEAM" effort. As the student, you are the captain of the team, and your parents, teachers and counselor are integral players on your team. You are responsible to lead your team toward its goal of developing and implementing a post-secondary plan that will lead you toward a happy and successful life.

The School Counseling Department follows a comprehensive Post-Secondary Planning Curriculum that is designed to meet the unique needs of every student. The key components of this curriculum for grades 9-12 are the Naviance Succeed Program and the Lodi High School Post-Secondary Action Plan. Information regarding both of these post-secondary planning tools are available on the School Counseling Webpage and in the School Counseling Office. Please note that the School Counseling Office door is always open to our students now and after graduation.

This website will be used to disseminate information to both parents/guardians and students in ascertaining information vital to a positive high school experience.
